 THINKING SEX

I found this article interesting because its  some that i already knew but was informative as well, in the beginning of this article they speak a lot about the youth in the early nineteenth century. Gayle S. Rubin stresses that in a sense sex is always political; he said that in nineteenth century the United States and England did educational and political campaigns to encourage chastity, to eliminate prostitution, discourage masturbation. I feel as though this action was a little  extreme because people should allow explore things about themselves, now i can understand the elimination prostitution because the fact that you selling your body for sex and there is no telling what is being spread during those times. He also states these action that place during those times is the reason why our society is the way it is now. I agree with that complete but i also feel that in some cases this its a good thing; for one i don't agree with  abortion. You basically just depriving the life of a child and in my defense just you committee murder. Another thing that i found interesting was the statement that in the nineteenth century premature interest sex, sexual excitement, and sexual release would weaken the health and maturation of a child. Not only is this statement false, but they where also lying to themselves by believe this theory. Sex helps is a very health activity that helps your immune system, boost your libido, improves women bladder control, lowers blood pressure, counts as exercise, and so one. i also though that the parents tying there children to a bed to keep form touching themselves the dumbest thing i ever heard, a child has a right to know how his/her body works and in order from them to know they have to explore a little.

HEALTH AND WEALTH

I found this reading very interesting, I use to hear a lot about how we are the number one nation, or we are more advance then other counties. After reading this article, I believe everything that Lawrence and James said is right on point. In my opinion i feel as though the United States is slower falling apart, my reason for saying this because there are to many problems in our society that have not been taking care of or has been over looked. Like they said in the article our main problems are inequality, proverty, and organization of our health care, these three things can or will lead the U.S down an unpleasnt road. Health care is probably the biggest problem in the U.S for a lot of people that are unforant because they can't afford it which is probably why our death ratio is so high. the author said people suffer fewer heart attacks if they are on the ladder of success then those who are at the bottom trying to make a living. In a way that is somewhat true because people that are successful don't have to worry about not being to pay bills and they have better health insurance, but that can all change in an instant if their success comes to an end. Those that are not that successful and don't the best kind  of health care or none at all tend to have to settle with whatever illness or suffering that they have. It also states that 14 million people in the U.S are severely poor, and this is main black and hispanic people. These people are either hungry, homeless, or both; they also live in neighborhoods that attracts negativity like alcohol and tabcco, illegal drugs, fast foods, inferior schools, few jobs, high crime, and inadequate health care facilities. This why our  society is falling apart because people fail to help these individuals that are in need.

Is Capitalism gendered and Racialized

capitalism is the economic and political in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for the profit, rather than by the state. In this article Joan talks about two about topics that is mention in capitalism, the first is base on industrial capitalism . This system is based on the central characteristics of capitalism which includes private property, capital accumulation, wage labour and, many models, competitive markets, and is dominated by white males. I feel that this system was on fair because it favored one race over the especially when it came to wages, even though changed over time segregation was still in place and people were still treated badly. This area also speaks on white masculinity and how capitalism was form from this idea. For starters what is white masculinity? in my opinion i believe its base off power that white males hold over other races. This power allows them to do what they want especially in industries that are self owned by them, which allows them to profit their workers well degrading them with low pay wages. The second area of focus is base on gendered substructures of capitalism which if I'm not mistaken talks about difference of male and female labor and wages. In those times african american men and women got the lowest paid out of other races and they were also given the lowest form of work, but there where a few that mange to move up and better jobs and  education.

People Like US video

In the beginning of this video ATOMICALLY got mad as hell about how the people judge others on there appearance, behavior, and the area they live in and set them in a certain class. If classism was solely based of popularity and fashion then this society we live has  stoup to a new low, but since we live in this type  environment a lot of times it can't be helped because we live in a judgmental society where some people are more privilege then others . If you have nice cloths, a big house, nice car, and a good job you are label as an upper class citizen, and to say the opposite for this individuals that don't have these things are consisted low class. The one thing that the author of this video said that bother me was about how when you send your kids to school you didn't want them be around black kids or poor kids, but you want them to be around the right people so they can get in the right school or he is not that smart he will get into one of those high class school. In my honest opinion to that statement i feel that it was the dumbest shit i have ever heard in my life, first was of all what no matter what school the child goes to if he or doesn't fulfill the necessary requirements their is no way he is getting into a high ranking school. secondly what does race or the amount of wreath have to with that child getting an education (it makes no fucking sense). i feel as though being put in a class puts people in fear because no one wants to get set back if there doing good, but those that are put in lower class either trys to move ahead or settles what they have and are the least fearer of falling further behind. Even those people in the so call lower class some of these people make goals to better them selves wreathed its getting an education or getting a better job. I do agree with the  author the people fear criticism; in this day and age a lot of people worry to much about what people think in of them. they depend to much others ideas instead their own because they want to fit in and not be consider a lamb or a loser

Masculinity as Homophobia

In this reading feel as though a lot of things that was said was true, to many men hate to have their manhood challenged by other man. So in order for them to prove themselves they have to show it through violent actions even at the risk of getting hurt. in my opinion i believe this is a stupid and point pointless but hate being embarrass and our pride gets the better of our common  to where we act  barbaric. One thing that was said in this reading that really annoyed me to no end was when this guys said showing emotion is a sign of weakness; showing emotion doesn't make you a weak person its make a human with a soul. I also don't think that humiliation makes men loss their status of power plus a lot of men don't have a status of power to begin with. humiliation is going to happen wather you inflict it on yourself or its done by another individual.

                Paris is Burning

In my opinion I thought that this film was very interesting; the fact that the gay and transsexual community where able to come together to perform and show off their creation, skills, and talents. There where a lot of categories in these Balls that were design to show the individual's beauty, charm and seductiveness, but their was one category that stuck out to which the realness. I think this because it's wasn't so as being flashy, but more so the behavior and your appearance to like a real women or men; at first I thought that this category was about the individual being like true to their life style but then again that's probably the main reason for the balls I guess.
